Class A or B Truck Driver

Job Description/ Job Requirements:

As a truck driver, you will maintain a truck and deliver concrete or aggregate in a safe, timely, and professional manner to commercial and residential construction job sites.  The ideal candidate for the Driver position will be self-motivated, show attention to detail, possess a high level of customer service, and be team oriented. In this position you MUST possess a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), pass a DOT drug screen and maintain a DOT medical card. You must be able to drive a manual transmission commercial vehicle. As well as have excellent driving skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and timely delivery of concrete to the customer at the proper slump and to the proper jobsite. Assure product quality to the best of the driver’s ability.

  • Communicate mixer/job status to dispatch.

  • Maintain appearance of truck inside and out. Responsible for keeping inside of drum free of concrete buildup using approved cleaning supplies.

  • Perform pre- and post- trip inspections (turned in daily) assuring that the mixer is safe and well maintained.

  • Follows “Mixer Driver Procedures” – provided at employment.

  • Assemble concrete chutes where applicable.

  • Follow appropriate route to jobsite and to maneuver the truck off road at the site and to deposit the concrete on site as needed.

  • Effectively communicate with our customers while representing the company in a professional manner.

  • Assists in yard functions when needed and performs all duties assigned by management.

  • Ensure truck is always properly fueled before leaving for the day.

  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to climb in and out of truck and up and down ladders. Twisting, turning, and bending over.

  • Perform frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), pulling, pushing, and carrying of accessory equipment used in the transport of concrete.

  • Must be able to safely operate the truck and its auxiliary equipment such as levers, chutes, and mixing drums
